The Transmission Company Energy of Panama (ETESA) held two tenders to hire a total of 700 megawatts (MW) hour through thermoelectric plants.
They shall be conducted in late July and the first one in October this year, these acts have already been announced for the first four months of 2015 but an extension at the request of the participants were granted, according to could know the Panama News Agency (ANPanamá).
In the first auction to be held in July they will acquire 350 MW, which should enter supply system from 1 January 2017. This contract will be for 10 years.
In the second act also they will buy 350MW, but these will be integrated into the system a year later, on 1 January 2018. In this case the contract will be for 15 years. This tender will be held in October 2015.
In both cases it is required that come from thermal offers, new or existing generators.
