Panama will attract the world’s bankers in October

The initiative responds to the importance of promoting the strengths, advantages and strength of the Panamanian financial system, said the ABP.

The Banking Association of Panama (ABP) will host the 1st International Financial Business and Investment Summit that will be held on 12 and 13 October in Panama City.

This organization brings together more than 70 banks that are located in 30 countries in America, Europe and Asia, they operate in the Panama International Financial Centre (CBI).

The initiative responds to the importance of promoting the strengths, advantages and strength of the Panamanian financial system, said the ABP.

“The funding opportunities offered to domestic and international investors in various areas including banking and insurance, construction and real estate development, transportation, energy, trade and industry, logistics and distribution, among others,” he said.

In the last decade Panama has indicies of economic growth among the highest in the world and has emerged as one of the most attractive destinations for foreign investment.

The Panama Canal expansion commissioning new international maritime navigation, portends a major trade and investment opportunities in the logistics sector growth.

The CBI ended in June 2016 with total assets of 118,945,000 dollars, equivalent to growth of 4.3% compared with June 2015.

For this period it should be noted that the fastest growing asset portfolio were loans with 6.3%.

On the liabilities side deposits ended at 85.264 billion dollars, with an increase of 4.7% compared with the same period last year.

It is important to note that growth is presenting its obligations, being 5.3% by June 2016, equivalent to an increase of 902 billion dollars.
