Panama seeks trade with Japanese businessmen

More than 200 entrepreneurs, business leaders and trade organizations executives discussed Tuesday April 19th with Panamanian authorities, the advantages of investing in Panama.

During the space of discussion, the President of the Republic, Juan Carlos Varela, invited Japanese businessmen to invest in Panama, being one of the countries with the highest economic growth in the world, based on a serious economic model.

“Because of our privileged geographical position, along with many other competitive advantages that Panama offers for companies looking to expand their presence and operations in the Americas, are headquarters of the regional offices of more than 100 multinational companies, including more than 40 companies Japanese, “said the president.

Among Japanese companies present at the meeting were some technology sectors, gastronomy, health, automotive, tourism, among others.

At the meeting, organized by the Embassy of Panama in Japan, brought together representatives of Organization for Foreign Trade of Japan (JETRO), the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) gave in Asia.

Entrepreneurs received a full explanation of the economic indicators, projections and facilities to do business in the Isthmus.

For his part, Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF), Dulcidio Guard, explained that Panama is home to over 115 multinationals.
