On the progress made by Panama on fiscal matters and the next challenges the country ahead of the review of Phase II of the Global Forum of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), scheduled for next October dealt with the meeting High Level Presidential Commission for the Defense of International and Financial Services (CANDSIF), chaired by Vice Foreign Minister Luis Miguel Hincapie.
The meeting provided an opportunity for representatives of CANDSIF evaluate the newly acquired commitment OECD standard, which is a sign of the political will of the current administration for further progress on transparency and tax cooperation, with concrete facts.
On this issue, the Vice Chancellor Hincapie stated that there have been positive developments in the relationship between Panama and the OECD, recently recalled the meeting in Paris with representatives of this organization, where an open and cordial dialogue ensued.
“We have formalized the OECD our commitment to exchange information under the CRS mechanism and they have expressed a commitment that members of the Global Forum of the OECD lend to Panama all the necessary technical assistance for the implementation of the new legislation and technological systems the automatic exchange of information required, “Hincapie said.
CANDSIF is made up of representatives of public and private sector and is a space for analysis and discussion for the development of a policy of the country to analyze the adjustments to be made to the system and thus safeguard national interests.
