The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) authorized the departure of Panama from the gray list, which had been listed since June 2014. This was announced on Thursday the Minister of Economy and Finance, Dulcidio De La Guardia through your account Twitter.
A delegation of Panama, led by De La Guardia, is in France to participate in the plenary of the FATF, which ends on Friday 19.
Earlier this year, a technical team of the FATF conducted a three-day visit to Panama to verify “in situ”, compliance with standards against money laundering, financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
Among the measures implemented by the Government of Panama is the creation of the Municipality of Regulation and Supervision of Financial Subjects No, and regulation of Law 23, which adopts measures to prevent money laundering.
The Review Group was to report the results to the plenary.
