Entrepreneurs call for more government investment

Entrepreneurs in Panama requested the Government’s public investment to take advantage of the current expansion of the Panama Canal, which will be ready by 2016.

“The main focus is that the Panama Canal is not only logistic center, but also an increase in the stages of the production chain,” according to the president of the Panamanian Association of Business Executives (APEDE), Dagmar Alvarez. This aims to make a national plan to improve port logistics, roads, and agricultural infrastructure where procedures will be streamlined, among other things.

Thanks to the best geographic position, financial center and all the benefits that Panama as regional and international logistics center, to take advantage and and provide global support in order to become a powerful center in the region.
